Oenological stay in Bordeaux Wine region: from Medoc to Saint Emilion,
3 day trip

Day 1. Welcome to BORDEAUX
At your arrival in Bordeaux, you will be driven by a private car to your hotel, situated right in the centre of the city. After being installed in your room, you will have dinner in a delightful restaurant.

Day 2. BORDEAUX. Between Graves and Medoc
This day will be dominated by the discovery of “Grands Crus” of Graves and of Medoc. After having breakfast, you will go with your driver-courier for a day full of taste and flavour. The tour will start by the visit of Graves: it is a land that stretches from the south of Bordeaux to Langon, a small city situated at 70 kilometres (about 44 miles) from there, along the Garonne River. This is where, on this poor land of gravel, sand and clay, that we will meet remarkable red wines for their sap intensity and their delicacy. It is notably in the north of Graves, in the domain of Pessac-Leognan that you will discover through a guided tour and its tasting, the richness of a Great Classed Growth of Graves, making this wine one of the most prestigious in the world.
The tour goes on by driving back up to the north, in the Medoc, on the left side of the Garonne River. This land, located between the ocean’s shores and the Landes’s forest, shelters several of great wines of France, with a worldwide reputation. If Medoc’s wines are so excellent, it is before everything for its ruby colour, its body, its delicacy, but also for its mellow. These are characteristic wines, of which bouquet is particularly appreciated by getting older. You will be invited to sample one of these wines during a visit-tasting, in one of the most important Castles such as Palmer, Pichon Longueville or Mouton Rothschild. For lunch, you will be accommodating in a wine-grower’s restaurant. Your tour will continued towards Saint-Julien’s appellation, Latour Castle, built during the reign of King Louis XIII, and which strong, delicate, distinguished wine is sampled during important meals. Names of Castle Lafite-Rothschild and Mouton-Rothschild are both reminiscent of “Grands Crus” of Medoc.
After a day of discovery and tasting, we will be pleased to accommodate you in a gourmet restaurant.

Day 3. BORDEAUX. Between Pomerol and Saint-Emilion
After having breakfast, your driver-courier will be pleased to drive you in the heart of Pomerol and Saint-Emilion’s vineyards, respectively located in the north-west and in the south-east of Libourne. Pomerol’s domain is much less smaller than the one of Medoc and of Graves. It stretches on three villages, of which one has a special feature: Pomerol, famous since the Antiquity, is known for its prestigious wine quality; wines of Lalande-de-Pomerol are renowned for its delicacy; at last, Neac’s village, of which grape-vines are renowned for producing a wine with a deep smooth and bouquet.
You driver-courier will continue towards Saint-Emilion’s domain. The name itself denotes a wine quality known to be one of the best in the world. During the tasting of a Saint-Emilion’s Great Classed Growth, it is advised to eat a bit of cheese, so that it can release its almond and rose’s flavour.
It is in the heart of this village, that belongs to the Unesco patrimony, that you will have lunch in a wine-bar, renowned for its regional cuisine quality and its wine list.
The medieval city will reveal you its mystery during its tunnel’s guided-tour, dig into the limestone; it is nowadays sheltering the appellation’s “Grands Crus”. You will also visit its Middle Age’s battlements and its small, narrow and paved streets. Saint-Emilion is also the seventeenth stage of the Way of St. James.
Your private car will go through the vineyard of Bordeaux to drop you off to Bordeaux’s rail station or Bordeaux’s airport.
