5 Days LEVEL I

Aim : Discover the different ranges of the most famous wines
Basis of the degustation
Describe and appreciate a wine
Participants : For everyone. Courses in French speaking.
Place : Degustation Hall of the « Maison du Vin de Bordeaux »
Intervenors : Professionals of wine set (oenologists, vinecellars...)
Horary : from 9.30 AM to 5.00 PM

Day 1. BORDEAUX. Arrival and accomodation in the selected hotel.

Day 2. BORDEAUX. Begining of the courses at the Wine's School. The degustation / the « Bordeaux », « Bordeaux superieurs » & « Côtes » / Saint-Emilion, Pomerol, Fronsac

Origins of the vineyards and wines
Economic information about Bordeaux wines
Mecanism & vocabulary of degustation
Olfative and gustative tests
The Bordeaux. « Bordeaux superiores » & the « Côtes » : presentation of the history names & degustation of 6 wines.
Lunch included by CIVB
Afternoon
Viticulture, physiologic cycle of the wineyards
Vine-plants, the « A.O.C »
The « Saint-Emilion », « Pomerol »
- « Fronsac » : presentation of the history name & degustation of 6 wines.

Day 3. BORDEAUX. Red wines / Visits

Red wine breeding
At 11.00 AM, Departure for a wineyard tour
Visit of a classified « grand cru » and lunch in a "Chateau"
Afternoon
Visit of a second wineyard

Day 4. BORDEAUX. The « Médoc » & Red « Graves » / The White wines
Morning
Explanations about the production, commercialisation and rules
Advice for your wine-cellar
The « Médoc » & Red « Graves » : presentation of the history names & degustation of 6 wines
Lunch on your own
Afternoon :
Dry white wine
Soft and liqueur's white wines
Presentation of the history names & degustation of 4 wines
Blind test degustation of 3 wines
