REGIONAL, CULTURAL and TOURISTIC TOUR
in NORMANDY, BRITTANY and CENTRE - 8 DAYS

- The names of the superior tourist class hotels will be given after confirmation of the reservation of the tour.
- The entrance fees to museums, monuments and others are not included.
- Historical and general informations concerning the places visited will be given by the driver, except inside museums, monuments, castles and others.
Day 1. PARIS
PARIS. Arrival. The room at the hotel is available since 3 PM. The capital of France is located on a fertile plain in the confluence of the river Seine and the Marne. We hear lots of things concerning the « Ville Lumière », but Josephine Baker made the best synthesis of all this by saying: « I have two loves, my country and Paris ». As she did, many visitors say this sentence after having visited Paris and swear to come back very soon! Accommodation.
Day 2. PARIS/ ROUEN/ LISIEUX/ CAEN
ROUENCapital of the High Normandy. Visit of « Notre Dame » cathedral, master piece of the Gothic art: its façade was source of inspiration to the famous painter Monet. Walk around the old Rouen: the St. Maclou church -fine example of the Gothic art-, the « Vieux Horloge » street, and the Old Market, where Joan of Arc was burnt at the age of 19 years old. LISIEUX. Typical city of the green Normandy and important place of pilgrimage where Sainte Therese of Lisieux lived. CAEN. Capital of the Low-Normandy. We suggest a visit of the Peace Memorial, where thanks to the advanced technology, a travel through collective memory is done from the 1st World War to our days. Breakfast and accommodation.
Day 4. CAEN/ LANDING BEACHES/ BAYEUX/ SAINT MALO
LANDING BEACHES. Tour along Arromanches, Longues-sur-Mer, St Laurent and Omaha Beach, where vestiges of the great exploit of the 2nd World War are preserved. BAYEUX. A visit to the Centre William the Conqueror is suggested to appreciate the Tapestry of Queen Matilde, which tells the history of the conquest of England. SAINT MALO. The famous and amazing « City of the corsairs ». Stroll along the walls and the old part of the city. Breakfast and accommodation.
Day 5. SAINT MALO/ GUIMILIAU/ LOCRONAN/ QUIMPER
GUIMILIAU. Famous for its religious site, formed by a cemetery, an ossuary, a calvary and a church with rich and beautiful ornaments. LOCRONAN. Its architecture whole represents richness and harmony thanks to the good conservation of the beautiful mansions of Renaissance style. QUIMPER. Built where the Steir and Odet rivers meet each other, it had developed around its cathedral, with houses from the XVI to the XVIII centuries. Breakfast and accommodation.
Day 6. QUIMPER/ PONT-AVEN/ CARNAC/ VANNES/ NANTES
PONT-AVEN. It is a harbour where Paul Gauguin and Emile Bernard created the « Synthetism » painting style. The charm and the tranquillity of this place inspired them some of their most beautiful works belonging to the school of Pont-Aven. CARNAC. It is one of the greatest Prehistoric sites in the world. It counts almost 3 000 menhirs in parallel rows. VANNES. Standing at the Golf of Morbihan, keeps alive the memory of Saint Vincent de Ferrer. NANTES. The main monuments are the Castle and the Saint Pierre and Saint Paul cathedral where is the splendid funeral monument of François II, king of brittany. Breakfast and accommodation.
Day 7. NANTES/ ANGERS/ LE MANS/ CHARTRES/ PARIS
ANGERS. The city, where Eleanor of Aquitaine was born, preserves many moments of the Middle Ages History. The tapestry of the Apocalypse, kept in its castle, is the oldest and the largest than can be admirer nowadays. LE MANS. Known for its 24 hours racing car, Le Mans houses an important car museum and the surprising St Julien cathedral. CHARTRES. Its famous cathedral is one of the marvels of the Gothic architecture, as well as an important place of pilgrimage. PARIS. Arrival at the hotel at the end of the day. Breakfast and accomodation.

PARIS. Breakfast. End of our services.
