- The names of the superior tourist class hotels will be given after confirmation of the reservation of the tour.
- The entrance fees to museums, monuments, or others are not included.
- Historical and general informations concerning the places visited will be given by the driver, except inside museums; monuments; castles or others.
Day 1. BORDEAUX
BORDEAUX. Arrival. The room at the hotel is available since 3 pm. Capital of the Aquitaine region, Bordeaux has given its name to the famous wine produced there. Located along the left bank of the Garonne river, it is also an important fluvial harbour, even since the pre-roman time. Accomodation.
Day 2. BORDEAUX/ ST JEAN DE LUZ/ BIARRITZ/ BAYONNE
ST JEAN DE LUZ. It was the marriage town of King Louis the XIV with the Infant Maria-Theresa, on June 9th of 1660. It is now an important and colourful fishing port. BIARRITZ. Thanks to the beauty of this place, its modern facilities, its confortable hotels, and its several sport activities, it is a summer resort and a touristic place of first category. BAYONNE. It is the most important city in the basin of the Adour river and the main departing point for the different tours to the Pyrenees. Breakfast and accommodation.
Day 3. BAYONNE/ PAU/ LOURDES
PAU. Birthplace of King Henry the IVth. To visit the castle where this king was born and to stroll along the boulevard of the Pyrenees. LOURDES. On February 11th of 1858, in the grotto of Massabielle, took place the first of the 18 apparitions of the Virgin to Bernadette Soubirou. Visit of the religious area, formed by the processions esplanade, the subterranean Church Pio X, the Crypt, the Rosary basilica, the Miracle Grotto of Massabielle, the Fountains with Lourdes water, and the Calvary road. Breakfast and accommodation.
Day 4. LOURDES/ AUCH/ MOISSAC/ BORDEAUX
AUCH. Capital of Gascogne. It is located along the Gers river. To visit the St Marie cathedral, an impressive construction between the XVth and the XVII centuries, with its two bell towers and amazing stain-glass windows. MOISSAC. It was a step city to Santiago de Compostela. To visit the St Pierre church, beautiful construction of the XI and XVI centuries where the styles are mixed. Its Roman porch is a master piece. BORDEAUX. Arrival at the hotel at the end of the day. Breakfast and accomodation.
Day 5. BORDEAUX
BORDEAUX. Breakfast, end of the services.
